Lynette Bassman, LCP

Psychologist
CA
Hi there, I'm Lynette! My name is Lynette Bassman, and I've been a licensed psychologist since 1990. I earned my PsyD in Counseling Psychology from New York University. I love working with people who want to improve their mental health, physical health, or relationships. There are always ways to make things better. My approach I believe that healing happens through the therapeutic relationship. I can help you see and feel your strengths and gain the confidence to use those strengths. My focus I work with a broad variety of clients, but I especially enjoy working with people who want to improve their self-care through healthier eating, movement, relaxation, and enjoyable activities. Many people don't realize how effective those things can be for most mental health concerns. My communication style I want you to feel at ease and maybe even have fun in the sessions. I'll do what I can to put you at ease and connect with you. My journey to mental healthcare I went through a lot of family problems and was depressed, anxious, and chronically ill as a child and young woman. I got better, and I want to help others do the same. My goals for you It's a collaborative approach in which you take the lead, and I help refine your ideas. My first session with you I'll want to know how you see your life and the concern that caused you to seek therapy, and we'll put our heads together to develop a plan. We will probably develop at least one or two ideas for things you can do right away to start making things better before our second session.
