About Dr. Maria Mezzadri

Maria was extremely sensitive to my jaw disorder and subsequent symptoms. She was pleasant and caring. Her advice and recommendations for home exercises were clear and specific. I went to Maria Mezzadri at Orthology after nearly a decade of ignoring my mildly irritating lower back pain landed me with excruciating mid/upper back pain that was costing me more and more of the things I enjoyed doing. It took a few months of patience and religious adherence to Maria's advice and exercises, but not only is my mid/upper back pain gone, so is the lower back pain I'd assumed was just something I had to live with. I feel like a new person. The only downside is that I no longer get the joy of hanging with Maria and Carlos every week.

This week I have scheduled 4 visits with Maria who is assisted by Carlos. I am a little over a month out from shoulder surgery and what is very important is a consistency .Maria pushes me a bit further each visit . If you are new to PT you don’t want someone that just put lotion and gives you a gentle massage . I learned the difference between a mediocre therapist and a gifted one when I found Maria Messadri !

I suffered a debilitating back injury about 3 years ago, and had plateaued in my recovery as one PT after the next told me they didn’t know how to help me. Maria came highly recommended from the head of orthopedic spine surgery at Mt. Sinai, and has helped me regain a level of mobility and functioning that I wasn’t sure I could expect anymore. She is excellent at what she does, and will go the extra mile to help improve your quality of life. She’s also super nice! I highly recommend!

I had surgery on my shoulder over a year ago and what I thought would be a short recovery has taken longer than expected. I was referred to Maria by a previous physical therapist when he left the city for an opportunity in another state. It was obvious within minutes that Maria is a very talented and knowledgeable physical therapist. And while I have most certainly made progress with my shoulder (increased mobility and strength) since I first began working with her a few months ago, it is the marked improvement in my thinking that has made working with Maria a true blessing. Yes she has helped me regain my physical strength and decrease my discomfort, but she has ultimately helped me believe that recovery is possible. She is someone definitely to go out of your way to see!

Maria worked with me for months to figure out what was wrong with my hip. She was patient with me and willing to try various techniques and methods to find what was effective for my treatment. After months of frustration prior to seeing Maria, she got me feeling better!

Maria goes above and beyond for each and every one of her patients. I tore my ACL and was so nervous for the extremely long road of PT I had ahead of me but she made me feel so at ease. She helped me build confidence and was regularly checking up on both my physical and emotional health. She is a rare gem.

I had seen another therapist prior to Maria for shoulder issues and I must say that no one compares to her . She is knowledgeable, patient and is definitely an expert in her field . She has helped make me progress at a rapid pace . I have tried several other therapist when our schedules did not align and I found seeing anyone else to be a waste of time and money . I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Maria is a fantastic PT. She is supportive, attentive, understanding, and kind, and after each visit, she always made my injured hip feel better and stronger. Thanks to her incredible care I was able to run the NYC marathon despite my injury — and she was so caring and dedicated, she even showed up at the race to cheer me on! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Maria to close friends (and I have done so) and should I ever need PT again, she is the only therapist I would see.
