She continues to expand her knowledge by taking many continuing education courses specialized in pediatrics, handwriting, fine motor skills, sensory processing disorders, self-regulation, and emotional regulation. She has experience treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, apraxia, Down Syndrome, fine motor delays, sensory processing disorder, and generalized global delays. Maria began her career as an occupational therapist in adult rehab and quickly transitioned to the pediatric population almost nine years ago. She has worked in schools, outpatient sensory clinics, and early intervention settings. Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends and family.
