Psychologist
MD
Do you feel stuck in your head—replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, or feeling anxious even when things look “fine” on the outside? Many of the adults I work with struggle with overthinking, anxiety, low mood, and relationship stress, and feel mentally exhausted from trying to figure everything out on their own. I’m a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with adults who overthink—especially around relationships, dating, and life transitions. My approach is thoughtful, practical, and tailored to how your mind works. Therapy with me is collaborative and direct: we focus on understanding what’s driving your patterns and helping you feel more grounded, clear, and emotionally steady. I earned my Ph.D. from Penn State, my M.A. from Boston College, and my B.A. from the University of New Orleans. I draw from cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and humanistic approaches, and I adapt treatment to each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. Clients often describe my style as warm, transparent, and gently directive. I provide individual and couples therapy for adults ages 18 and older. I’m also the author of The Overthinker’s Guide to Dating (forthcoming from Random House). I’ve been practicing as a psychologist in the DMV since 2013 and bring over a decade of clinical experience to my work. While my Zocdoc profile is new, my practice is well established. You’re also welcome to learn more about my work through my writing and educational content on Instagram or Google.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with adults of all genders, though much of my clinical and research experience has centered on women who overthink—particularly around relationships, anxiety, and self-doubt. Clients often find it helpful to work with someone who understands these patterns deeply, while tailoring therapy to their individual needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Some clients come to me after past therapy experiences where they felt listened to, but not helped enough. My approach is more active and collaborative. I bring structure, practical tools, and real-time feedback into our work together, and I’m transparent in how I think about what’s happening and why. My goal is to help you make meaningful progress in a way that feels clear, supportive, and genuinely useful.
