My name is Maryam Farzaneh Alkhas, and I am a licensed Physical Therapist, Licensed Acupuncturist, and Certified Personal Trainer providing personalized care in New York City. I completed my physical therapy education at Tehran University and later expanded my clinical training in the U.S. with a Personal Training Certification from W.I.T.S., a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Sciences, and a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the New York College of Health Professions. This multidisciplinary background allows me to take an integrated, whole-body approach to treatment. I specialize in combining physical therapy and acupuncture to address pain, movement dysfunction, and functional limitations. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, focusing on both symptom relief and long-term improvement. Physical therapy services may include manual therapy, therapeutic massage, myofascial release, corrective exercises, strength and mobility training, postural assessment, and modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation. I also provide customized home exercise programs to support recovery outside the clinic. As an acupuncturist, I am certified in Clean Needle Technique by the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Commission (AOMC). I offer acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na, moxibustion, and auriculotherapy. I also have training in herbal medicine and Eastern nutrition, which may be incorporated when appropriate. I provide in-person visits in New York City, as well as home visits in select Manhattan neighborhoods, and limited virtual consultations. Insurance I am an in-network provider with Medicare, Aetna, and Cigna. I am out-of-network with most other insurance plans and offer self-pay options. Out-of-network reimbursement may be available depending on your plan. My goal is to help patients move better, feel stronger, and return to daily activities with confidence.
