I am an Army veteran and clinical psychologist with skills in aviation psychology and leadership assessment. I am passionate about using the science and practice of psychology to improve individuals and groups. My approach I approach the challenges of my patients with a spirit of seriousness, partnership, and teamwork. My focus As a former Army psychologist, I have been trained in several therapy approaches to address a wide range of issues- from trauma and anxiety to depression and grief. I also specialize in working with pilots, aircrew, and air traffic controllers. My communication style Above all an empathetic and humanistic approach. While I prefer an open and direct communication style with my patients, I am able to easily transition to active listener in times of challenge and difficulty. My journey to mental healthcare As a veteran, I have benefited tremendously from the power of empathetic clinicians and desired to provide the same. My goals for you Therapy is an investment and I respect my patient's time and energies. Therapy goals are typically established collaboratively and early in the treatment, with adjustment and frequent progress checks throughout the process. My first session with you First sessions always have their challenges and those are unique to the individual patient. I will ask questions about what challenges they face and their motivation for seeking therapy. I will also typically ask questions about background, important relationships, and discuss the process of psychotherapy.
