Please be advised that this practice does not work with any insurance plans. Dr. Michael Colin is a New York state licensed psychiatrist, board certified both in adult psychiatry and in addiction psychiatry. He graduated from Boston University with Honors with a dual degree in Psychology and Biology and completed his post-baccalaureate medical sciences degree at Columbia University. He earned a medical degree from the State University of New York / TAU Medical School, and completed his residency in adult psychiatry, as well as a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan. In addition to psychiatric training, Dr. Colin has had additional training in psychotherapy through the Psychoanalytic fellowship program at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Colin continues to work with a wide range of patients. In addition to London Terrace Psychiatry, he works in a community-based clinic in the Bronx, and as a guest lecturer in Addiction psychiatry at Montefiore Medical center.

    Dr Colin is an extremely talented provider who takes a wholistic approach to evaluating and treating his patients rather than only looking for solutions in a pill. He is conservative in treatment approach but also very understanding of his patients needs and takes their preferences into consideration. Always has his patients best interest at heart.     Dr. Colin was prompt, warm, thorough and thoughtful, giving me a nearly 90-minute initial consultation. His advice was sound and conservative, and he was willing to be very flexible on appointments due to financial concerns, and was very willing to make himself available by e-mail or phone if needed between appointments. Highly recommended.
    Finally a psychiatrist which acts as a psychologist at the same time and ACTUALLY DOES A GREAT JOB! Upon first meeting Dr.Colin, I felt immediately at ease. He is kind, friendly, authentic and warm. He doesn't judge and totally let's you speak your mind (even when it's racing!). He is very down to earth yet wise at the same time. So if you're looking to see a psychiatrist and a therapist----- go to Dr.Colin. trust me---- you won't regret it!

    Dr. Colin is absolutely fantastic. I felt extremely comfortable with him since my first meeting . He's empathetic, easy to talk to, and very proactive with managing my care. He definitely seems to be familiar with the most current treatment methodologies and exposed me to very effective treatments that I had never heard of before, and really helped me in ways that my previous psychiatrists were never able to. Would recommend him to anyone, especially those struggling with a dual diagnosis.
    I thought they can follow instructions.. guess not.. he seem very nice and attentive.. he told me he will send me a bill and i said find i will send him a check.. money to me is not an issue when it came for me to get better.. Only doctor decides to put my credit card thru.. that really was sneaky of him. now i have an overdraft charge.. after discussing with him he went and did that.. we didnt even do an hour.. of the evaluation.. I was looking at the time.. smh...

    Dr. Colin is a compassionate and thoughtful doctor. I came to him when I was feeling very down and having a rough time with my anxiety. He did a thorough evaluation, did some good counselling, and I am now feeling much better. Throughout my time with him, I found him to be completely professional and non-judgmental. I did have to go on medication for a while, but I felt supported and the doctor was very good about explaining how the meds worked.
