Hi there, I'm Michael!
Hello, I am Dr. Mike. I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 28 years. I have helped many individuals, couples, and families resolve whatever issues they have had successfully. These issues span the spectrum from behavioral challenges to infidelity, including substance abuse. I am a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist but am eclectic in my approach as a therapist. I have enjoyed working with all my clients over the years, even the tough ones.
My approach
Cognitive behavioral as well as eclectic. I am a trained EMDR therapist, which cannot be done via Zoom and must be done in person.
My focus
Individuals, couples, and families. Behavioral issues including addictions, domestic violence, anger management, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.

I am very respectful and positive in session.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have had a varied background, from being in the military as a combat soldier to working in the gaming industry. I was going through a divorce and was no longer satisfied with the gaming industry. I started exploring other options with my education, and it was suggested that I explore counseling, which I did and was immediately attracted to it. So I pursued my Master's degree and then my doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Getting acquainted, finding out what the issues are, and understanding what goals the client has for therapy.
