Mike Nelson, MOT, OTR/L is a highly trained occupational therapist at Alliance Orthopedics in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He specializes in rehabilitation of the upper extremity, focusing on decreasing chronic pain and maximizing function and independence in all activities of life.
Mike attended Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Biobehavioral Health. From there, Mike attended Delaware State University, where he earned his Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Fieldwork experiences include work with post-surgical hand rehabilitation, cognitive and visual-motor delays, and treating individuals with various upper extremity and neurological deficits. As a former athlete, he has a passion for treating athletes to facilitate a return to sport.
Mike is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and the American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR. He is also a certified personal trainer holding certification from ACE Fitness.
