As a psychologist with over 20 years in the mental health field, I have worked with families and adults in various community-based settings. During the past few years, as Covid emerged, I began my telehealth practice, retired briefly, and then decided to continue my work focusing on individuals and adults. My educational background includes a PsyD and a Master's in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University. While my theoretical approach is grounded in the tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy, I practically utilize cognitive/behavioral strategies, mindfulness techniques, and psycho-educational material in my work with patients. These strategies address common treatment topics such as stress management, coping skills, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation. By exploring the strengths and challenges presented by motivated patients, I tailor therapeutic interventions to promote their growth toward improved emotional, social, and behavioral functioning.
