Dr. Robert Becker, DPT, PT

Physical Therapist
1911 Crain Hwy S, Glen Burnie, MD
Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Karson Becker developed a passion for rehabilitation and performance through years of strength training and recreational sports. After shoulder surgery following a football injury, he spent years learning how to prevent and manage musculoskeletal injuries while improving his own training. Combined with a career change from working as an agricultural statistician for the USDA, these experiences inspired him to pursue physical therapy to help others optimize performance and long-term health. Karson earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University in 2012 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2021. He also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in 2020. During his final clinical rotation, Karson discovered Functional Manual Therapy (FMT), an experience that shaped his approach to patient care. He has since spent five years refining his skills through mentorship, using FMT to improve movement, motor control, and overall function. Treating patients ranging from individuals with chronic pain to competitive athletes has given him a deep appreciation for the full spectrum of human movement and performance. Karson's clinical interests include shoulder, pelvic girdle, and foot and ankle conditions, with a particular passion for working with field sport athletes, runners, golfers, tennis players, and outdoor enthusiasts. His areas of expertise include manual therapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), chronic low back pain, postural dysfunction, post-operative rehabilitation, and hypermobility. Outside the clinic, Karson enjoys ultimate frisbee, golf, and strength training.
