From my first interaction with Robin, I felt an immediate bond with mutual trust established, giving me the peace of mind that I was being validated. I was gratified that she took the time to educate herself about my rare chronic illness to support me during a highly stressful and anxious time. Robin listens and offers insightful key takeaways at each session. The people in my life have noticed a positive change in me. I now have hope that I can live the life that I aspire to live.

Robin is the real deal. Within the very first session I felt emotionally safe. If you’re looking for a therapist who is MORE than “now how does that make you feel?” She is it. She listened, gave me techniques to use, and gave me homework. More than any other therapist has done for me in the past. She has excellent communication skills and is genuine with her words.

Robin Ybarra, LSW, helps clients focus on their strengths and build skills. She meets clients where they are and emphasizes building a strong therapeutic relationship.
Robin works with clients of all ages but especially enjoys supporting adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and challenges related to the LGBTQIA+ community. She is also skilled in helping clients who have experienced the traumatic loss of a loved one.
In therapy, Robin uses a strengths-based approach and believes all clients can be resilient with the proper support. She is dedicated, compassionate, and works with each client to develop coping strategies and promote healing.
Robin earned a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is available for Telehealth and in-person sessions at our Bourbonnais location.
