***Insurance Disclaimer*** I work as an out-of-network provider. I'll be glad to assist you in understanding this process and can offer you information that will be helpful for reimbursement. I am a psychiatrist and trained psychoanalyst who has practiced in New York City for over 25 years. I am also a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and a Psychoanalyst associated with Columbia University Psychoanalytic Institute. I see people of all ages and have a broad practice. I treat people with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but I also work with patients who have conflict in their everyday lives with personal relationships and work-related stress. In addition, I treat people with obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, and sexual disorders. My approach is highly individualized and I take into account the specific circumstances of each patient and work with him or her in formulating a treatment plan. My treatment approaches include talking therapy (psychotherapy), but I also prescribe medications (psychopharmacology) and practice psychoanalysis. My approach is holistic. I believe that the mind and body are part of a full person and that both need to be taken into consideration in treatment. I have worked globally with individuals from diverse cultures, which has made me sensitive to patients of different cultural backgrounds. I have been perennially recognized by top rating organizations like New York Magazine, Castle Connolly’s Guide to America’s Top Doctors and Top Doctors for the Psychiatric Treatment of Cancer Patients, and US News and World Report and have been honored as a Distinguished Life Fellow by the American Psychiatric Association, the major organization in the field. I am invited to lecture and speak to a wide range of professional, academic and lay audiences and my research and writings are published in major peer-reviewed journals. I have also made frequent appearances as an expert on public radio and television. My services include consultations, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, psychoanalysis, couples therapy and family therapy.

Dr. Basch is a warm and thoughtful doctor. I feel very comfortable with him and found him to be a good listener and very patient. He has worked with me to develop a treatment plan that is helping me, he has also helped me to feel less anxious and much better than I have in years.
Horrible experience with this doctor. Urge you to stay away, save your hard earned money and use it to see someone who will actually care enough to help you. I'm a doctor myself, when a patient comes to see me and they're in pain, I don't waste the entire session explaining to them that their condition is completely treatable and they'll feel better with proper medication only at the end of the visit to get them out the office and tell them that they'll get medication from me NEXT TIME THEY COME TO SEE ME. That's right, this is what this so called doctor did. He basically wasted the entire session on talking about my condition but at the end threw me out saying that our time was up and he had his next patient waiting already. At that point I flat out asked him what am I supposed to do in the meantime ? Suffer until my next visit ? I mean how long does it take to write a prescription ?! Clearly he doesn't care about his patients well being, he just wanted me to come in AGAIN and pay him for ANOTHER visit for a prescription. Also, he had this grin on his face the entire time I was talking about my condition, showed zero empathy. HORRIBLE! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED.
Excellent, caring compassionate doctor.
I highly reccommend Dr. Basch. He cares and wants to help people get better from whatever it is that ails you. I will see him on a regular basis.
