About Shenique Erickson

Shenique Erickson's passion for physical therapy is rooted in her love for track and field and the experiences that shaped her growing up in the British Virgin Islands. As an athlete, she saw firsthand the challenges athletes in her community faced in accessing knowledgeable sports medicine professionals and appropriate rehabilitation. Experiencing her own injuries — and watching teammates and fellow athletes struggle with setbacks that could have been managed differently — made her acutely aware of how a lack of proper rehabilitation can impact an athlete's ability to return to sport and, in some cases, shorten their career. These experiences motivated Shenique to pursue physical therapy so she could help bridge that gap, providing athletes with the education, hands-on care, and individualized programming needed to recover, perform, and continue doing what they love. Shenique earned her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences with a Pre-Physical Therapy focus from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in 2020 and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Gannon University in 2025. Shenique brings a unique international perspective to her practice. She has served as a physiotherapist for the Team British Virgin Islands Track and Field Team and has provided medical coverage at the 2026 World Athletics Cross Country Championships and the Disney Run Marathons — experiences that have given her firsthand exposure to the demands of elite-level endurance and track and field competition. Shenique has a particular interest in foot and ankle injuries and post-operative rehabilitation, with a focus on treating track and field athletes. Her personal connection to the sport, combined with her international experience and clinical training, allows her to deliver care that is both deeply informed by the demands of the discipline and driven by a commitment to keeping athletes healthy, competitive, and on the track.
