My goal as a practitioner is to help my patients lead more satisfying lives by helping them to confront repetitive, self-defeating patterns in their work and their relationships. My approach to remove these obstacles to growth and well-being is to provide a warm, safe and secure environment that helps patients explore their thoughts, feelings, actions and experiences in a nonjudgmental way. My practice is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory and technique. This means that we explore together how the past is negatively influencing the present. This also helps my patient’s feel deeply understood which is vital to emotional healing.
I have extensive experience in treating adolescents and adults. I currently also work at Queens College as a therapist. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from Smith College and received a Master’s in Divinity from Harvard University. I continue extensive postgraduate training in psychoanalysis at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research.
