Getting to know Dr. Sophia Hoffman

I am currently welcoming new patients to my practice. As a therapist, I take a warm, relational, and process-oriented approach to treatment. My style is informed by psychodynamic therapy, as well as trauma-informed, mentalization-based, and attachment-based approaches, helping you gain insight into yourself, your relationships and your emotional patterns. In my work, I aim to balance direct reflection and insight with open processing space. I am a New York State Licensed Psychologist with doctoral training from Fordham University and an MA from The New School. I work with adults, children, adolescents, and families at Lifespan Therapists of Brooklyn. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to cultural humility, as well as providing gender-affirming and sexuality-affirming care.
