In sessions, I provide education to my clients about how our feelings and emotions affect our brains and bodies. Many clients find it validating and comforting to know the effects and causes of their anxiety or depression. I find that incorporating different mindfulness techniques, such as intentional breathing and muscle relaxation, into sessions and into your life can help people feel more at peace and present in their daily lives.
I keep most sessions relaxed and casual so I can create a safe space for my clients. I have a super fun toddler who keeps me on my toes, but is the light of my life. I also love spending time outside, even though seasonal allergies keep me indoors twice a year. Being out in nature fills up my cup and helps me bring my most authentic self into sessions.
Now more than ever, life is stressful. There are many social factors and personal issues contributing to our daily stress. Although it can seem daunting to tackle those issues, you owe it to yourself to take care of your mental health and well-being. Therapy can give you the tools and support to lead a happier and healthier life amidst the chaos.
