It has been strongly established that one of the most important factors contributing to positive outcomes in therapy is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. As such, my goal is to develop a meaningful therapeutic relationship with clients built on a foundation of trust, acceptance, and alliance. I operate under the assumption that all individuals have strengths which can be used to overcome and work through the challenges that prevent their personal goals from being realized. While my therapeutic approach is tailored to each client's individual needs, I am first and foremost a person-centered therapist. This means I focus on my clients' goals and experiences, providing a safe space for individuals to find their own answers to the challenges they face. I have additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and incorporate this work to help people identify unhelpful patterns in their thoughts, feelings, and actions and disrupt cycles that leave them feeling stuck. I also incorporate tools and resources from additional therapeutic interventions, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. My professional specialization has primarily focused on helping individuals aged 18-80+ experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar illness, and psychosis. This specialization has uniquely prepared me to support individuals experiencing unwanted symptoms of mental illness, as well as those who love someone experiencing mental illness. Whether you are seeking assistance with management of distress from mental health symptoms or looking for a safe, affirming space to support your journey toward self-discovery and wellness, I hope you may consider reaching out.
