I am a Licensed Marriage and family therapist who is committed to helping my clients navigate the issues arising in their lives through the use of therapy.
My approach
I like to use cognitive behavioral therapy or functional family therapy to address challenges in my clients lives. I also use Gottman therapy when working with couples and dialectical behavioral therapy to address some clients where it is suitable and effective.
My focus
I have nearly 20 years of experience and in my career, I have treated many types of disorders and about 60% of my career has been working with families and children. I feel comfortable treating most challenges from depression, anxiety, depression, bipolar, to psychotic disorders.
My communication style
I feel strongly about communicating directly with my clients. I feel it is a disservice to not be upfront with my client. I and a good listener and a problem solver. My clients know where they stand in the process and know that they are getting a kind caring therapist who will keep them informed throughout the process.
My journey to therapy
I love this work. I have been a soldier, a police officer, and now a therapist. I have been doing this work for 20 years and it gives me great satisfaction knowing that I can help others and help them to reach their personal goals and become the best versions of themselves.
My goals for you
I like to start with setting a couple of small attainable goals the client can achieve in the short term while setting one long-term goal to strive for during the process. I feel small attainable goals are important for my clients because it allows them to feel successful and strive towards the bigger goals we have set forth.
My first session with you
A warm welcome, someone who will listen and get a good grasp of their story. Clients should expect to be welcomed without any judgment or labels. We will get to know each other and build a rapport.
