About Dr. Tanvi Maharaja

Dr. Tanvi Maharaja is a Pelvic Health PT, Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES), and Fertility Rehab Specialist, with 25 years of experience. She has the unique privilege of getting to work with patients of ALL genders and ages with bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction, after being certified in levels 1 through 5 (Capstone) of Pelvic Physical Therapy coursework, helping them get back to the lives they want for themselves. She is trained in the use of rehabilitative ultrasound imaging of the lumbopelvic region, in visceral mobilization techniques, and is trained as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist, certified through NAIOMT, with a special interest in the spine and the TMJ. She has advanced training and certifications in Sexual Medicine and Rehab, Pelvic Floor Rehab in Oncology, and is currently pursuing further training in the Pediatric Pelvic Floor. More recently, she is certified in Fertility Rehab, providing targeted pelvic physical therapy for women trying to conceive and undergoing fertility challenges during IUI/IVF. Combining the specialties of Orthopedics and Pelvic Health, she strives to remain a present, conscious clinician, providing trauma-informed care, looking at the patient as a whole, applying the principles of evidence-based practice and pain neuroscience education. She is a TA for Herman and Wallace, one of the two leading institutes providing clinical education in the pelvic floor therapy in the United States. She also teaches courses for rehabilitative ultrasound to fellow clinicians.She is a member of IUGA (International Urogynecological Association), ICS (International Continence Society), IPPS (International Pelvic Pain Society), and ASRM (Americal Society of Reproductive Medicine). When she is not working. She indulges in strength training, hiking, reading, writing poetry, and loves to spend time with her family and her dog Cooper.
