Dr. William W Jones, MD

Dr. William W Jones, MD

Psychiatrist
252 7th Ave, Suite 7O, New York, NY
Please note: I don’t offer medication management. I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychoanalyst whose practice is entirely devoted to psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. People come to see me when they feel anxious, depressed, ashamed, lonely, or unable to reach something important in themselves. They may also be struggling with difficulties in a marriage, family, or intimate relationship they cannot quite understand or resolve. Many are thoughtful, capable people who function well outwardly but feel privately distressed or stuck. I also work with people experiencing more severe forms of distress, including disturbances of thought, mood, or emotional stability. I work psychoanalytically, which means I listen carefully to what your emotional life may be trying to say—through feelings, dreams, symptoms, and unexpected moments in treatment. Suffering is often an effort to communicate, protect, or repair something not yet understood. I help make that communication thinkable—and therefore open to transformation. The aim is deeper and more lasting change in how you experience yourself, others, and your own mind. This work can be difficult and, at times, uncomfortable, but when it goes well it is also deeply meaningful and creatively alive.
