I'll be 100% honest here--if it wasn't for Dr. Chow, I wouldn't be able to live my life the way that I do today. To preface all this, I played football for seven years (four in high school, three in college) and currently compete in both powerlifting and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Needless to say, I've accumulated a variety of injuries over a short period of time.
I first met Dr. Chow in June 2016 (I happened to work across the street from his office at the time) with a hip impingement and chronic migraines. I was told by an orthopedic that I'd need hip surgery and I was willingly to do whatever it takes to avoid that scenario since I could not imagine a life without the gym for any extended period of time. Upon our first meeting, I quickly realized two important aspects about Dr. Chow: 1) he is an incredibly kind and caring human being and 2) he is extremely knowledgeable in not just chiropractic care, but a variety of other physiological disciplines.
By combining innovative treatments such as graston and dry needling with corrective exercises, my hip quickly became pain free and my migraines went away after a short period of time. Orthopedists made me feel like I was all out of options but serendipity lead me to Dr. Chow which gave me the hope I needed to overcome the pain and obstacles that I faced at the time. Even with the hip pain and migraines gone, I still go to Dr. Chow on an almost weekly basis to treat any other injuries that I might have since his treatments enable to me perform everyday at a high level.
All in all, I used to think it was game over for my athletic career but Dr. Chow's positive personality and intelligent approach to treatment showed me that there's always more than one solution to a problem. Even if I have to leave the DMV area someday, I'll still fly down to Dr. Chow if I ever have an issue (so, expect me to visit often!). Thank you Dr. Chow and Dr. Huh for opening Boone Wellness and enabling me to live my life to the fullest.
