About Dr. Alexander Heatrice
Dr. Alexander Heatrice is a highly trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon serving Florissant and the greater St. Louis area. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he began his academic journey at the University of Oklahoma, where he discovered his passion for dentistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University in Washington, DC, establishing a strong clinical foundation.
After graduation, Dr. Heatrice served seven years in the United States Army. His military experience instilled discipline, leadership, and a deep commitment to service. He credits this time with shaping the determination and teamwork that define his approach to patient care.
He completed advanced education in Oral Facial Pain and Oral Medicine at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC, then pursued his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Harlem Hospital Center in New York, affiliated with Columbia University, completing the program in 2020.
Dr. Heatrice performs a full scope of procedures, including dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery, trauma, TMJ treatment, orthognathic surgery, and pediatric care. He has published research and remains active in academic work.
As an attending surgeon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Mercy Hospital St. Louis, he has trained residents and treated complex cases. He specializes in advanced implant procedures, including All-on-4 cases requiring zygomatic and pterygoid implants.

I have a big fear of the dentist; it took a LOT of coaching from my family to get me here and now I’m glad I did. The staff and Dr. Heatrice treated me very well and I recommend anyone to go see him.

I was very scared because I’ve never had my teeth extracted before, so this was new for me. The staff and Dr. Heatrice were amazing. I went to sleep and woke up thinking I must have got it done! LOL this place was great! If I need another extraction I will be back!
