Dr. McNeal moved to North Carolina in 2010 to attend the UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill and has proudly called the state home ever since. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, after which he joined Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding as a design engineer. There, he contributed to the design of Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carriers and Virginia-class nuclear submarines. He later transitioned to Northrop Grumman Space Systems, serving as the lead design engineer for the Trident D5 Naval Ballistic Missile program, specializing in internal case insulation. In 2008, Dr. McNeal chose to pursue a new path in dentistry. He completed post-baccalaureate studies in Microbiology at Weber State University before entering the UNC School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors in 2014. Dr. McNeal has pursued extensive advanced training in complex surgical procedures, including wisdom tooth removal, bone grafting, and surgical extractions. He is highly trained in implantology—ranging from single-tooth implants to sinus augmentation, bone grafting, and full-arch “All-on-X” hybrid restorations. As a licensed IV sedation practitioner with experience in both hospital operating rooms and private practice settings, he is equipped to manage all aspects of dental care, from routine treatments to comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitation. Outside the office, Dr. McNeal’s greatest joy is spending time with his family. Together they enjoy hiking, fishing, rockhounding, and searching for shark teeth along North Carolina’s beautiful coastline. He loves hockey and is an avid Carolina Hurricanes fan.
