About Dr. Diana Heineken
Dr. Diana Heineken grew up in Redlands, CA, in a family of dental professionals, where she watched her parents build their practices with genuine care for their patients and community. She immersed herself in dentistry during college, working part-time as a dental assistant. Both the technical and interpersonal skills in the dental office came naturally to her. After working for a pediatric dentist and then helping her mom run her practice, Dr. Heineken truly fell in love with the profession.
She attended Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree as well as a master's degree. Since then, she has brought her dental expertise to beautiful San Diego, providing quality care and striving to educate her patients on the connection between oral and systemic health. She has been a member of the San Diego County Dental Society and currently serves on its Board of Directors, as well as being a CDA Delegate for the State Dental Society. Dr. Heineken also volunteers her time providing free dental care through Veterans Village and other charitable organizations.
When she's not in the office, Dr. Heineken loves spending time with her family, including her husband, their young son, and their two dogs. A fitness fanatic, she has run 15 half-marathons, one full marathon, and a Spartan Beast race-all within the last eight years. Chances are, if she's not working, she's working out on her Peloton or going out for hikes with her family.

One of the best dentist experiences I have ever had in my life. Exceptionally clear communication - they called to let me know that I would be able to do a last-minute cleaning AND x-ray when I had originally just had the x-ray scheduled. I also loved the staff, the dentist, and the hygienist - the latter got my teeth the cleanest they felt in years. Phenomenal bedside manner and experience. I’m literally recommending this place to all my coworkers.

Visit was fine. Doctor was super nice and very clear with what she was doing and why. But overall experience was just ok. First, booked a dental cleaning and X-rays which always takes most dentist offices an hour. I was here for over 2 hours, which included 23 minutes of sitting in a chair waiting for the next person to see me between X-rays and cleaning. It’s just too overdone. Hygienist was fine, a little rough and talked the entire time. All in all the only thing I actually liked about the experience was the Doctor herself. May come back but will try other places first.

I have always hated going to the dentist, and this was the first time that I felt completely comfortable throughout my entire appointment. Every single person I spoke to was so kind to me, and I felt like the whole visit exemplified the highest standard of trauma informed care. My care options, and their prices were made crystal clear. Could not recommend more.

Planning to go back after my first thorough exam. I get a warm feeling about this provider and office staff. Communication was not rushed and was very clear.
Zocdoc will hopefully cut back on the number of unnecessary text messages they send as reminders, and allow customers to make an appointment without demanding a lot of personal information better handled in person at the provider office. There is no web-based database that cannot be hacked, HIPPA or no HIPPA.

By far the best experience I’ve ever had at a dental office or any medical provider generally. The office staff is incredibly welcoming and Dr. Heineken is a great communicator. I highly recommend Pacific Smile Design to anybody.

This is a wonderful dental office. The staff were nice and jovial. Dr. Heineken was kind, patient, thorough, and very knowledgeable. I unfortunately like to avoid the dentist until I really need to but this office is really understanding about it! Understandably this was my first visit, but by far, the most comfortable dentist appointment I've attended. I went in for a consultation and for tooth pain/food getting stuck in what seemed like a new gap. They were able to squeeze me in that same day for a filler after assessing my issue. Dr. Heineken was quick yet competent with the procedure. I also appreciated the transparency of the copay practices as well. Would recommend!

Wow-such an awesome first experience at Pacific Smile Design. Dr. Heineken and all of her staff are just so lovely to work with, which takes away any dental anxiety I had prior to coming in.
Beautiful office, thorough appointment that makes you feel like you are leaving the office with a plan and a practice that cares about you and your long term health.

I was referred to Dr. Heineken by a close friend. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly with her office.
On the day of my appointment, every one of her staff members treated me with kindness and respect. I could tell that each member in her office was very skilled, and worked efficiently. The dental hygienist that worked on me did an amazing job, and even taught me how to better clean and floss around my permanent retainer.
Overall, Dr. Heineken has a very solid team led by a helpful, compassionate dentist, and I know I will be staying with this dental office for all of my dental needs!
