About Dr. George Stevens
Our Back Bay dental practice and Dr. George Stevens' long-standing record of accomplished makeover and reconstructive dentistry have become well known to our local patients, as well as patients from all over New England. Dr. Stevens and his team at the Dental Arts of Boston provide both restorative and cosmetic dentistry, including Invisalign?, dental implants, periodontal and endodontic treatment by in-house specialists, teeth whitening, veneers, and more.
Our commitment to dental excellence and being a prime Boston dental care provider is evidenced by incorporating the latest technological developments available in dentistry.
Safety and security are promoted by our extensive use of the latest sterilization techniques and the use of digital x-rays.
Sedation dentistry is also provided for our patients who may be anxious about a visit to their dentist. Dr. Stevens also employs the latest CAD-CAM technology.
Computerized imaging systems and intra-oral cameras take images of the patient's mouth to provide Dr. Stevens additional measures of accuracy necessary for a precise diagnosis.
Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Stevens graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1981 with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
He was appointed to the faculty of Tufts Dental School in 1981 and has served as a clinical instructor and dental researcher there.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and a past president of the Metropolitan District Dental Society.

I have an ongoing issue for which I've seen Dr. Stevens multiple times. On the plus side are his knowledge and skill. He really seems to know what he's doing, and he is very steady with his hands. On the negative side is the customer service angle. In my experience, he pretty much always runs behind, and no one ever apologizes for my time spent waiting. Today was about 20-25 minutes late, in the morning. Not outlandish but a simple communication or apology would go a long way. Without that, I started off in a bad mood. Then there is pain/trauma involved for me, which I don't think he fully appreciates. Today, he seemed to view the blood in my mouth merely as an inconvenience for completing his work rather than a sign I was hurting. Overall, a mixed opinion.

He seems like he was a good doctor, but I was the last appointment of the day and everyone was clearly rushing to get out. I originally made an appointment for 5, was called and asked to come in early. I agreed to try to be there by 4:45, which apparently meant they switched my appointment to 4:30. Then the day of the appointment they called again and asked me if I could come in at 4, which I was unable to do.
I knew coming into the appointment that I was probably going to need my wisdom teeth removed and he told me that was the case, but I was not thrilled with the manner in which he told me. That being said, he was thorough and efficient with the exam, he just rushed through the part where he told me the results.
The dental hygienist who I worked with was fantastic. She was friendly, thorough and great at explaining things. She was really a pleasure to work with.

I was seen a few minutes before my appointment (unheard of!) I went on my hour lucnh break and the whole process was extremely efficient by nature. The hygenist spoke to me as a peer and shared the pros and cons wih me a.k.a. didn;t try to sell me anything. Also, its nice not being scolded for having a less than perfect flossing routine.

Dr Stevens is such an excellent and capable dentist! He fixed and filled my tooth so skillfully and my tooth is in perfect shape now - he always gets the tooth that has been filled to feel comfortable, and like nothing was ever wrong with it - I highly recommend Dr Stevens !! I went for a free consultation for cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Stevens answered all my questions, gave me a range of options, and didn't attempt to pressure me into the costliest procedures. That truly gained my confidence and respect. I look forward to working with him to enhance my smile.

What an excellent dentist! He is patient and peaceful, which makes a big difference in one's visit ... his assistant Michelle is great, too - and they make a great team. They do what has to be done very well - and they make "dreaded" appointments not so bad. I highly recommend Dr. Stevens to everyone. He has years of experience with all sorts of situations, so he really knows what he's doing and does it well. He and Michelle are just the best dental team you can find.

He was very reassuring an comforting. He gave me visual aids to show me what he was about to do. Not at all like the "Drive-thru Dentist", I had seen prior.
He made me believe that he cared. I am extremely grateful for having been referred to Dr. Stevens.

Went in for a toothache (wisdom tooth) and was my first dentist visit in years. He was great, wrote me a scrip and saw me on the house, then got me scheduled to do a full check-up and clean-up. Wait times could be a little better, but the visits always go great!
