About Dr. Hao Cheng
Dr. Hao Cheng has been practicing dentistry in the Greater Houston area since 2010. He strongly believes in treating his patients as if they were his own family or friends and understands the importance of delivering quality, professional patient care in a timely manner.
Dr. Cheng grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a devoted Longhorns fan. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious Baylor College of Dentistry in 2010. After graduation, he moved back to Houston to be closer to his family and friends and has been practicing here ever since. Dr. Cheng has worked in many different practice settings around Houston and has treated patients of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. He met his wife, Alice, in Houston in 2013. They share a passion for traveling the world and meeting people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. They also enjoy outdoor activities and participating in sports.
Recognizing that many patients may feel uncomfortable visiting the dentist, Dr. Cheng strives to make every dental visit a low-stress experience with minimal discomfort. He achieves this by ensuring patients understand the treatments they need and by presenting all possible options every step of the way. Having undergone many dental procedures himself as a child, he can empathize with his patients’ apprehensions. He prides himself on not talking down to his patients but treating them as peers to better educate them on the importance of preventive care and maintaining healthy oral hygiene. Dr. Cheng owns and operates his practice to ensure he can provide care based on his own standards and philosophy.

I’m the biggest baby when it comes to seeing the dentist! I had a filling and I didn’t feel a thing! He did an amazing job.. after the numbing wore off I wasn’t even sore! 5 stars from me!

Dr. Cheng and his entire staff were both friendly and efficient. They made me comfortable. My procedure went smoothly and I am happy with the results. Dr. Cheng also answered some follow-up questions I had right away. He is definitely my new dentist.

I go back in a couple weeks for my permanent crown but today I think Dr Cheng and his team did a great job. I went for cosmetic reasons and I appreciate him being conservative. My temporary crown is even a better shape than my last one. Very knowledgeable! 5/5 stars

He was great. I have great anxiety with going to the dentist, as I was traumatized as a child going to dentist for extractions and unfortunately, have also had less than positive experiences as an adult with dentist visits. It has become a phobia for me. Dr. Cheng and his staff's professionalism and bedside manners help put me as ease. Admittedly, I was still very nervous. I do plan to return for dental work and confident that over time, I will feel more comfortable with Dr. Cheng and his staff and will be less anxious and fearful.

Dr Cheng & staff were courteous and friendly. Dr Cheng provided professional advice and care. Although my situation was somewhat complicated he offered a solution and a temporary fix that was efficient and economically realist . Dr. Cheng took the time to explain my dental issues in terms I could easily understand. He proposed several options for treatment of a serious dental issue and helped me weigh the cost/benefit of each route. In the end, he steered me toward making a decision that will actually bring him less revenue than the other alternatives we discussed. It is refreshing to work with a dentist who doesn’t put revenue ahead of his patients’ best interests. Dr. Cheng also has an excellent bedside manner and his staff are all friendly and professional.

If you're horrified of going to the dentist because you've had a terrible experience before, this is your new Dentist! Painless and patient and everyone in the office was great. I had a root canal, my teeth cleaned and cavity filled and, honestly, felt zero pain afterwards. I actually might start wanting to go to the dentist! ;)

Dr Cheng is super intelligent! Both me and my husband love him and his team. His Montrose office is neat. The entire staff team is polite and helpful.
