Dr. Ian Furlong was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After graduation, Dr. Furlong’s pursuit of excellence led him to undertake a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he received two years of advanced training in all aspects of general dentistry including: restorative-driven implant dentistry, third molar extractions, periodontics, sedation dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, digital dentistry, facially-driven smile design, complex treatment planning, guided surgery, and operative dentistry. Through this program, he acquired advanced skills in evidence-based comprehensive dentistry including diagnosing, preventing, and treating patients for optimal oral health, function, and esthetics. He graduated with awards for Excellence in Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Sedation, Teamwork and Leadership and with an award from The American Prosthodontic Society for outstanding achievement and excellence in the study of Prosthodontics.
