I have dreaded dentist visits since a child. The feeling of someone poking around in my mouth has always brought about anxiety. Not in this office. It's clean, with amazing staff who have unmatched bedside manner and care. Additionally, everyone was extremely informative about what was going on throughout the whole process. Will definitely be returning.

I had an initially good visit here. I told them before making an appointment that I just needed a cleaning and check-up (covered by my insurance). I confirmed with front desk that everything was covered. They brought me back for X-rays first before the cleaning. At this point, I assumed this is covered as the front desk confirmed with me everything was covered. I didn't tell them I wanted X-rays nor did they ask and tell me that this wouldn't be covered. I was just ushered around the office and I assumed all was fine and most importantly, covered. Today, I was billed for the X-rays. This was so upsetting because I trusted the practice when they told me everything was covered. This is sneaky, unorganized behavior. With money being tight, this is very stressul and upsetting, not only because of the money, but because of the lack of transparency and communication, and because I thought I had finally found a good dental practice.

The staff here is excellent, everyone from the receptionists, the lady who did my xrays, the dental hygienist Eric, and Dr. Backiel all had wonderful bedside manners and the waiting area is a nice environment.

Everyone there couldn’t have been nicer! They explained every step from a cleaning to more personalized and cosmetic and in clear but not condescending ways. Preet and Sade were absolutely incredible hygienists, and could not have given me a better experience. Dr. B is thorough and efficient, and an overall great person to be around. I would definitely recommend this practice!

I actually love it here! I dislike the location that it’s in but this office is so cozy and welcoming. staff is amazing and understanding. they also had a little cute dog in the office too!! i will be back for sure!

I'm a recent transplant to Philly and I had been putting off a dental exam and cleaning for wayyyy too long. Going to the dentist can be scary but the staff at Dr. Backiel and Associates made me feel very welcome and educated me about preventative care. Dr. Backiel and Eric were very thorough and had excellent bedside manner during the entire appointment. I will be back.

- I went from the main dentist to a second person/ assistance trying to sell me Flouride Care.
My dentist said she needs to step out for a bit and never came back to me.

Oh boy, where do I start? So, everything was fine leading up to the appointment that was made on 1/13/23. HOWEVER, while I was on the way to the appointment, one of the dental hygienists called me and told me that they couldn’t find me under my insurance. They told me this 1. 40 mins before my appointment and 2. while I was on the bus heading over there. One top of that, the dentist I was supposed to see had a family emergency and I was given the whole spiel of “The dentist can’t see you in time if we can’t verify your insurance”. I told her that I would deal with it when I got there. Guess what the issue was? They had me under the WRONG INSURANCE. I had already confirmed my insurance from a week ago, but they’re apparently so understaffed that it couldn’t have been resolved sooner. So, I was already pissed off going into this and decided to at least get my teeth cleaned. I ended up with water up my nose :-|. While they did try to fix things, I’m good. I will not be back.

Everyone was great from the front staff to the dental assistants to the actual dentist as well.
Clearly communicated everything during the entire visit.
