Dr. Juliana Kim is passionate about delivering quality care to her patients by ensuring they feel comfortable and satisfied during every dental visit. Dr. Juliana first came to Philadelphia to pursue her undergraduate studies in bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed her General Practice Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Through this rigorous and renowned hospital-based program, she treated medically complex in-patient cases and performed advanced clinical procedures. Dr. Juliana is also a certified Invisalign provider and is bilingual in English and Korean. In her free time, she loves playing tennis, exploring new restaurants in the city, and spending time with her rescued calico cat.

The appointment was okay for a new patient appointment. I did sign up to get a cleaning. Was not able to get that and had to schedule another time to come back. Had to wait a long time before being seen. I was told it was because of an emergency. However, I was told that about an hour after my appointment time. I was gifted a $25 Amazon gift card for the long wait. Hopefully this was a one-time occurrence and my next appointment gives a better experience.

I changed dental providers and chose this office. They had great ratings and exceeded my expectations. They found something on an X-ray that prompted a CT to confirm their suspicions. I was so happy that my intermittent tooth pain was confirmed and explained and is soon to be corrected.
Their hygienists there are also very friendly and thorough as well as helpful. I totally recommend the is practice.

The office call me to verify the appointment 2 days before. On the date of service, I waited for 1.5 hour saying they needed to verify the insurance. I was confused on what is the purpose that calling 2 days ago to verify insurance. Only one experienced admin found that I was waiting for 1.5 hour and expedite the insurance verification. I still giving them a chance to go ahead to schedule for cleaning. However, my senior parent calls me due to their health conditions, then I called immediately trying to reschedule. The front desk says any same day appoint reschedule will be charged $35, no matter what, even due to the family emergency. He emphasizes “You have signed the paperwork.” I had never seen any dental office is so mean. First appointment, I felt very unorganized organized business administration and the 2nd appointment, it let me feel that all they care about is money.

I was not seen by the doctor I booked with. Which I felt was weird as no one mentioned the doctor not being in. I was also very uncomfortable as the doctor I did see didn’t really communicate anything. I asked several times about the x-rays they took but no information given. AND I could overhear the doctor at the desk making Zionist comments about Ms.Rachel. I understand people have differing political views but maybe don’t vent at the office. The person that did my actual cleaning was very nice but I will not be coming back.

They seemed rushed. I wasn’t able to talk to the doctor about my big picture questions or concerns. They spent very little time discussing my financial options. Terrific place for a cleaning or filling, or if you have full coverage dental insurance. They validate parking.

My frustration stems from the fact that when Dr. Kim glanced at my tooth for a fraction of a second and told me that it was cracked--something I was already aware of. She immediately left after telling me an assistant would be back to discuss my insurance. The assistant returned with a billing sheet outlining a treatment plan and list of costs. She asked me if the doctor had gone over the treatment plan with me which she had not. Never have I ever experienced a dentist showing me that lack of regard and respect as a patient. When the office assistant immediately went to find Dr. Kim so she could explain the treatment plan to me she had already moved on to another patient. The medical assistant who brought me back was sent in her place to explain. I let them know if I decided to go with the treatment plan I would need to get another provider at the office. Several minutes later, Dr. Kim returned and then asked me what questions I had. I made the decision to leave and will not return.

I waited an hour and still wasn’t seen. When I asked the front desk when I would be seen she gave me attitude and told me they are short staffed. I ended up leaving. It sounds like they shouldn’t be taking new patients.

Best Dentist visit I have ever had. I have seen a total of 5 dentists throughout my lifetime and this visit was the best. The office was extremely transparent and efficient with verifying my insurance and collecting my paperwork prior to my appointment. The office is extremely clean. After my exam/cleaning my mouth was not sensitive at all. There is a reason why appointments are so popular at this practice.

Dr. Kim answered all my questions (and I had many) so gracefully, even drawing a diagram to fully explain the issue I was having. The waiting area is so clean and the staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. The hygienist is pretty backed up but otherwise, everything was great.

I didn’t see the doctor noted in my appointment as much as an attendant but they were all really friendly and attentive there and answered my questions. There was some trouble in getting my treatment covered by my insurance even though the reassured me that the treatment was covered before proceeding but besides that everything went perfectly.

Great office and staff however at my first visit the Dr. told me I would need a root canal which was alarming since I’m fairly young and have never had a cavity. I showed my dentist from home the X-rays they took - I appreciated them sharing all the X-rays they took of me- and my home dentist said it was only a small cavity. I feel they tried to take advantage of me being a new and young patient so I was disappointed and wouldn’t recommend coming here.

I hadn’t seen a dentist in awhile. I used the Zocdoc app and found Dr. Kim and her staff. They accepted my insurance for a cleaning and examination. Both were done thoroughly and didn’t take overly long. I arrived earlier than my appointment by about 40 minutes and they took me right away. The office is really nice and clean and right at 7th and Chestnut so very accessible. I work in Center City so it is convenient for me. I have an appointment set up for another cleaning now, and will use them as long as they’re at that location. I highly recommend them.

Linda was PHENOMENAL! I appreciate all of the are they gave me while cleaning my teeth, the advice they shared regarding the care I'm doing at home for what I'm doing right and other options I could have, and their overall bedside manner is fantastically comforting, warm, and inviting! The front desk staff was also very welcoming and super helpful. Everyone made sure all of my info was set up correctly, that I understood any billing (insurance covered everything), and that I was scheduled for my next cleaning appointment and other services. This office always leaves me smiling with a happy and clean mouth!

I had a great experience at this office. Dr. Kim was super professional, the front desk were super welcoming and were organized with paperwork, etc. All hygienists and dental assistants were friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. I had several issues I wanted addressed during the appointment and these concerns were all addressed or next steps identified. Super impressed.

This place puts money before patients. I don't usually leave reviews, but I don't want other people to get taken advantage of like almost happened to me.
They wanted to do several root canals and it was going to cost quite a bit. They were quite aggressive about getting me to pay for the treatment, basically sending in a person whose job it was to get me to sign right after the consultation. I told them I needed to get a second opinion. Good thing I did!
I went to another, smaller practice. The new dentist said that I did not need any root canals, certainly not in the one tooth. Another dentist at this same practice concurred saying, "I've been doing this for 35 years, and a root canal for that tooth is ridiculous."
I also got a cleaning with Independence Dental and it was extremely painful. They never offered to provide any anesthetic even though I was clearly in pain. Why? That would take time and cost them money.
