“Dr. Choi was pleasant, direct, and clearly explained everything she recommended. I went in for an Invisalign consultation and she was incredibly thorough and sweet. I really liked her and thought the service she gave me was fantastic.
Two reasons I took 1 star off:
1) she had her partner, Dr. Smart, come to examine my teeth to make sure no additional dental work needed to be done prior to Invisalign. After looking in my mouth, he kept saying he would be "very worried" about two teeth with apparent cavities. Even if that's what you're seeing, you shouldn't talk about being "very worried" while you are in your patient's mouth!! It was very off-putting.
2) After the consultation, I met with Dr. Chung (who runs the practice) to go over financials. The cost was much higher than I had anticipated, which he said was because of Manhattan prices (okay, fine), and they went to Columbia. Not sure how going to a specific school means you can charge more for a standard service, but that rubbed me the wrong way as well.
Overall, Dr. Choi is great and I would definitely recommend her, but would be wary of others in the practice and their fee structure.”

About Dr. Junginn (Jessie) Choi
Dr. Junginn (Jessie) Choi is a Board Certified Orthodontist (Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics) specializing in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dental malocclusion and jaw alignment. An orthodontist is a specialist who undergoes additional training and education in the specific residency program, i.e. orthodontics, after graduating from dental school. Dr. Choi is familiar with various orthodontic techniques, including phase I treatment (e.g. expanders, space maintainers), traditional system, self-ligating system (e.g. Damon), and Invisalign treatment. She focuses on providing high quality of treatment and personalized care to each patient.
Dr. Choi pursued her professional career in dentistry at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, NY where she received the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation, she went straight onto the 3-year orthodontics residency program at the same institution, Columbia University, after which she obtained the Master of Science degree. Upon the completion of the residency, she has been working as an associate orthodontist at private offices in New Jersey.

Dr Choi is amazing and always takes care of you and provides all the information that patient might be looking for. She is very patient and always recommends the treatment that is right for the patient.
I didn’t like the experience of working with their manager, Joane throughout the appointment - on phone, she told me my consultation is 100 percent covered by insurance and then she charged me deductible after the visit. She also was not very pleasant to talk to overall. I had asked her about the viviera retainers cost on phone as well and she didn’t give me the amount for it. Other orthodontists office were very pleasant in comparison (they told me any additional fees and treatment plan pricing etc on phone itself while booking).
Would recommend being transparent with the patient about pricing and fees on phone itself prior to the appointment so they are not surprised when they are asked to pay for consultation.

Dr. Choi is attentive, skilled, honest and kind - everything one could hope for in an Orthodontist.
She explains the process and rationale in plain terms so it's easy for me to understand and follow along. I shared my upcoming wedding plans with her and she took the liberty to remove the Invisalign attachments on my teeth for my engagement photo shoot and then reattached afterward, which was really kind of her. Most importantly, her treatments are smooth, painless and quick.
I also noticed that she's very good with children and their parents. The children patients doesn't seem to be nervous with her - I can tell they like coming to see her for their braces. I once overheard a child tell her she missed her while she was away on a vacation.

Dr. Choi is a thoughtful, caring and meticulous orthodontist. I tend to be very particular about my teeth, so I wouldn't trust my smile to just anyone, but Dr. Choi put my mind at ease from the first visit. The visits were quick and easy, and she had me out of braces in less than a year. The permanent retainer she placed is still going strong.
