About Dr. Lawrence Spindel

Dr. Spindel graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1980 with honors, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society for graduating at the top of his class and received the Long Island Academy of Odontology Award for Highest Scholastic Achievement and clinical proficiency.
He completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System, Manhattan, in 1981 and started private dental practice in Manhattan. Since 1982, he has maintained a private practice specializing in comprehensive dental care, including Cosmetic, Implant, and Preventive Dentistry. He has held teaching positions at New York University College of Dentistry and Columbia University. He has participated in more than 27 clinical trials and published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Spindel has a longstanding interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and in 1997 was elected Fellow of the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics. He is listed in the Guide to America's Top Dentists. Since 2005, he has published the Ask Dr. Spindel Dental Blog, named one of the top 100 dental industry blogs by dentalassistingschool.org in 2009 and a top 50 dental blog by mastersinpublichealth.net in 2010. In 2013, emergencydentistsusa.com included him in their list of the top ten dentists in the U.S.A.
He joined the panel of dental experts on Allexperts.com in 2008 and participates in the New York Chapter of the Spear Study Club, attending meetings with colleagues committed to comprehensive, excellent dental care. Dr. Spindel remains dedicated to continuing education, exploring innovations in dentistry, and providing his patients with his best care.

Dr. Spindel took spent a lot of time consulting with me and explaining different treatment options. He is experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. The entire staff was incredibly kind and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Spindel.

I recommend! I've been going to Dr. Spindel for a couple years. I found him on Zocdoc initially; his office location is super convenient, and his availability is great (I think I initially got an appointment day-of). I think he is awesome and I love his staff (amazing dental assistant and receptionist). He and the staff are caring, thoughtful, and I have never felt they were rushed. They also gave me an awesome and closeby dental surgeon recommendation last year when I needed my wisdom teeth taken out, so it's great to know that I have everything teeth-related covered in NYC :-).

I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Spindel. He was very personable (he says it's the coffee!), and his staff treated me extremely well. Dr. Spindel thoughtfully explained my options, and briefed me on the process I was about to undergo. The office was exceedingly clean and comforting, with Louis Armstrong and Big Band music setting the mood. It was an unexpected, but welcome pleasure. I would happily recommend Dr. Spindel to anyone.

I have been a patient of Dr. Spindel for over a decade and am always pleased with his work. His staff is very friendly and have been very patient when I have had to change times or have run late. The two qualities for which I am most appreciative are that Dr. Spindel is almost always accessible in case of a question or problem and that he has always been very candid and honest about the work that "has to be done" versus work that "could" be done.

Dr Spindel was great; he was thorough and explained to me my options instead of trying to hard sell me everything, which is what I've come to expect from dentists. Ultimately, I was there just for a cleaning and he was in an out and my teeth were shiny as new. We had a good chat about Zoc Doc and Yelp reviews, and he even has a dentistry blog that he writes regulary on!
