As the proud daughter of Polish immigrants, her parents taught her how to overcome life’s challenges and adversities! Her dad recently overcame a life-altering health condition, and he is her hero. She is always happy to see patients who speak Polish as their first language. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Missouri Dental Association. Her personal motto is, “Life is short; do the things that you love and that bring you joy.” Dr. Mertz says she aims to provide high-quality, comprehensive dental care to everyone she meets. She strives to be compassionate and empathetic while communicating effectively with each of her unique patients. She wants to be remembered as a kind, caring individual who always helped others. That is one of the best skills she brings to her job. She can empathize with patients, helping them feel comfortable during every dental procedure. Her favorite quote is by Maya Angelou. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, what you did, but never how you made them feel.” So, she and her team strive to live by this motto and treat patients with it at the core of their actions. She is active in her community and the local Labadie Community Association because they give back to local people in need. When she isn’t working, she is a true nature enthusiast, and she loves hiking, camping, and taking long walks with her husband and dog. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family and meeting new people because “everyone has a story to tell.” Her happy place is the mountains in Colorado. She even married her husband in Durango, CO. On a Sunday morning, you may find her on the back deck enjoying a coffee with her dog, Chief, by her side. She loves to read, with her favorite books being Fiction and Fantasy.
