About Dr. Markelle Smith
You have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Markelle Smith at our Grand Central location every Monday and Tuesday.
Dr. Markelle received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry and completed his residency at the Hospital for Veterans Affairs in Brooklyn, NY. He chose dental school to combine his interests in medicine, science, and art, which led him to focus on cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Markelle envisions the most beautiful and natural smile achievable for each of his patients and works closely with them to chart an individualized path to achieve their oral health and cosmetic goals. Above all, he prides himself on his bedside manner, making even his most anxious patients feel at ease.
In his free time, Dr. Markelle stays fit by practicing yoga and enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring the exciting restaurants in New York City with his friends.

Amazing people, service, and experience. It's been a very stressful week for me dealing with a broken crown + infected root canal, but Midtown Dental really made everything as easy as possible.
One thing I really appreciated was their transparency - they were thorough in explaining everything, and did not sugarcoat anything, which was nice for me to know.
Doctors were great but everyone else in the office was equally as great - special shoutout to Liz!

I'm always skeptical when searching for a new doctor. I used my gut when booking with Dr. Markelle and as usual, my gut did not disappoint. My wait time was less than 10 minutes and my dental hygienist (Fatu) was efficient and welcoming. She explained everything to me in detail. Dr. Markelle finished the appointment with suggestions and answered all of my questions. My first of many more visits. Great first impression. Thank you!

From the moment I walked in Christian was so friendly and organized. The dental assistant Yami was so professional and kind. The dentist, Dr. Markelle Smith was truly the best dentist I’ve ever been to. He was so professional, knowledgeable, had a wonderful bedside manner, couldn’t have been more thorough and had gifted hands. Going to the dentist can be scary but after going to Dr. Markelle Smith I actually can’t wait to go to the dentist next. I would give him a thousand stars if I could. I recommend him to everyone as their go to dentist!

I'd 100% recommend working with the Midtown Dental Group team! Dr. Markelle Smith and Violet were an absolute pleasure to work with! I moved to NYC at the start of the pandemic, and have finally been rounding out all of my primary providers. I've been to so many dentists over the course of my life, and this was the first experience I've had in awhile where I actually learned new, easy and practical insights for taking care of my teeth!! Violet did an EXCELLENT job making me feel comfortable and relaxed during my cleaning, and Dr. Smith came in and just took the experience home.

Honestly the worst dental experience i've had - techs dancing and spinning in chairs - MD didn't introduce himself or offer to shake my hand upon meeting - and to top it off he decided to scrape the outer layer of my bonding off my front tooth, leaving it temperature sensitive and needing to be redone right as we were going into the pandemic - just logging back onto this site to look for someone good to redo/fix what he did.
