About Dr. Matthew Rurka
Dr. Rurka is a general practitioner who focuses on patient-centered preventative and restorative dentistry. Born and raised in Naperville, he attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Dr. Rurka takes pride in staying up to date with cutting-edge practices in dentistry through continuing education courses. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Association, and Chicago Dental Society.
In his free time, Dr. Rurka enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, son, Owen, and their golden retriever, Howie. He also enjoys running, golfing, and watching his favorite sports teams, especially the Chicago Cubs.

I don’t think it would be fair to give a super high recommendation because I didn’t get much done. However, as a whole the entire office and staff was really great and I don’t see myself going anywhere else for my dental needs. I felt heard and taken care of in my short time there so I’ll definitely be back to write a more thorough review.

My dentist retired and was looking for a new dentist who can handle my dental care. I went for my first visit at Smile Obsession and am very impressed! Dr. Rukra and I discussed my xrays and dental health, he explained in an easy and understanding way! I look forward to my next appointment!
