About Dr. Meagan Hanney

Dr. Meagan Hanney is a 2022 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. She graduated in 2018 with Honors. Dr. Hanney is a current member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. Dr. Hanney's interest in dentistry began in the 7th grade when she had braces. She found it fascinating how teeth aligned with wire and bracket placement and enjoyed observing the tools used during her appointments. Around this time, she also developed a growing passion for science at school, which quickly became her favorite subject. Through job shadowing, she gained a deeper understanding of dentistry and admired how dentists contribute to improving patients' overall health and help them achieve confidence through a healthy smile. When not serving patients, Dr. Hanney enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, traveling, and being outdoors.
