About Dr. Michael Katz
Dr. Michael Katz, a Philadelphia native, began his career with research at the prestigious Center for Translational Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, specializing in asthma and COPD. He then attended New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and was fortunate to gain entry into its Honors Esthetics Program. There, he learned from the great minds who shaped esthetic dentistry into what it is today. Dr. Katz completed his residency in General Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center, where he continued to expand his foundational knowledge. He has worked as an associate dentist at various offices, carefully observing the positives and negatives of their daily operations. These experiences ultimately inspired him to create Flatiron Family Dental's unique atmosphere.

Dr. Katz is the best. He takes time to listen to your concerns and you can tell he cares about his patients. I had a big cavity on my upper right molar and he told me he didn’t have to do a crown. Instead we did an onlay. He was able to print the onlay and it only took one appointment! Highly recommend. If you’re in Flatiron, this is the place to be

I usually don't enjoy going to the dentist, but I feel completely different about Flatiron Family Dental and seeing Dr. Katz. My cleanings are always thorough yet quick, and Dr. Katz is extremely personable. The entire office staff is also very friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Katz and Flatiron Family Dental.

Dr. Katz is always professional and comforting in his approach. He takes time to talk through anything he is suggesting, and is always happy to discuss the rationale behind any treatments with me. I cannot recommend Dr. Katz enough, he’s the best dentist I’ve seen.

I saw Dr. Katz for a crown. I have terrible dental and needle anxiety, and I informed the staff that this anxiety is so bad I’ll avoid visits or just cry. When I met Dr. Katz, not only was he incredibly patient with me, but the procedure was also painless. It also helps that the office is a state-of-the-art, modern practice. To avoid multiple visits, the crown was made the same day. Instead of taking extra time out of my busy schedule and risking a second anxiety attack, I was there for about 90 minutes and received treatment, all in one visit. The office is beautiful and very clean, and the staff—from the front desk to the dental assistants—are all very friendly. They also took the time to walk me through each step of the procedure, guiding me on how to book and what to expect, and were very patient with me. I’ll definitely be back to continue my dental work. :)
