About Dr. Nancy Kim
Dr. Nancy Kim is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. At Manhattan Periodontics & Dental Implants, our goal is to provide comprehensive periodontal and dental implant therapy in a warm, comfortable environment.
Dr. Kim is one of the few elite practitioners who is a Certified Pinhole Technique Surgeon. This innovative technique treats receding gums with no sutures, no scalpel, and no pain. She is also a specialist in laser soft tissue surgery.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Kim earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. She then completed residencies in General Practice at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Kim further advanced her training with a residency in Periodontal Surgery at New York University College of Dentistry.
Patients visiting Dr. Kim can receive a full range of dental services, including comprehensive periodontal therapy, dental implants, bone grafts, soft tissue grafts, extractions, and sinus augmentations. I went to Dr. Kim for a second opinion about a procedure that was recommended to me by another periodontist. Although she agreed that I needed the procedure, Dr. Kim explained my condition and treatment plan clearly and thoroughly, and her demeanor and patience put me at ease. The whole staff—especially Dina and Stephanie—were also knowledgeable, informative, and kind. I’m not necessarily looking forward to the procedure, but getting it done with Dr. Kim will certainly be the best case scenario.

she is literally the best dentist I ever met, I had a deep cleaning due to my laziness during the pandemic. And I did not feel any pain at all during the deep cleaning, it was the first time without pain at all. Amazing.

The visit was fine, she gave a lot of recommendations on a possible treatment plan and was straightforward about everything. I think I had some slightly different expectations for how the appointment was going to be but I appreciated the thoughtfulness of everyone that was there. I would say the only thing that was slightly disappointing (mainly shocking) was the appointment price where there wasn’t much done beyond a consultation when I had desires to have some form of treatment. I’m not sure how they run insurance quotes there but I’ve never had a regular dental appointment be that costly

For me trust in the doctor that she/he is making recommendation for my benefit not her own pocket is very important. I have full trust that doctor Kim is a professional that is very good in what she does. I had a complicated tooth extract and a bone graft, I did not feel a thing before or after surgery. That should attest to how skilled she is.
The other important fact is I am told what I will be charged and if is a covered expense or not, so no surprises there.
Highly recommend her.

Dr. Kim is an excellent Dr. Dr. Kim listens to every question you have without rushing you through the process. The Dr.'s staff is amazing. Dina and Angie give you their undivided attention from the time you enter until the time you leave. They answer your questions, no matter how many times you may have to ask. The procedure was quick and painless. I had no need for pain killers after my tooth was pulled. I thought this was amazing! I would highly recommend Dr. Kim and staff. You will not be disappointed.

First time visit was very thorough; was pleasantly surprised at how hands-on and engaged the doctor was during my appointment.
I had come to expect a cursory once-over after seeing a hygienist so this was a big step up. Would definitely recommend if you prefer an intense and vigorous cleaning.

My worst experience to date. I've never had such a painful cleaning before. She was not gentle at all. My teeth and gums were healthy; I did not have any cavities or any other issues. I left still bleeding from the gums and had bruising several days later.

If you are a total chicken and afraid Of whatever dental procedure you are about to do like I was, then Nancy Kim, she is the one to go to. Everything is explained well, she is very gentle and I am totally over my fears now. I still have to go back and do more work (bone replace, osseous surgery, dental implants) and I think I am going to skip the valium next time prior surgery :) and in the end I will have the most beautiful smile again!
