About Dr. Nina Carpenter
As a dentist trained at the University of the Pacific, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery, I wanted to practice in an office that had a strong sense of community and shared values. Zen Dental Studio has both in spades.
The team is friendly and welcoming, and our practice philosophy of always putting the patient first aligns with my personal values. I also love that we have some of the best systems, technology, and team in the business!

Zen Dental lives up to its name: it's a very relaxing dentists office.
I was searching for a new dentist; had been postponing my dental visit due to covid. I suspected I had a cavity so I couldn't put it off any longer. Zen Dental was able to get me in quickly and took my insurance.
Dr. Carpenter did a great job filling my cavities. She was very patient, understanding and accommodating - I tend to get the jitters from the novocaine and I have neck problems so I need to adjust often.
I found the gentle massage mode on the dentist chairs to be very relaxing and I love that they offered for me to watch a movie with noise cancelling headphones - I almost fell asleep. Most pleasant cavity fill I've had.

You won't find a cuter dental office with great dentists in SOMA!
I am a new patient through Cigna and came in for a standard 6mo cleaning and was in and out of there in less than 2 hours which is really important to me as I have a busy schedule and cannot usually come in on the weekends. I had x-rays and a cleaning done and it was all very painless! *Disclaimer though I enjoy going to the dentist and have never had any teeth problems in my life.* I had Dr. Nina and she was super nice and when the x-ray machine was being used sped up the process and did my gum measurements while I was waiting! Her assistant was also very nice and helpful.
The aesthetic of the studio is very focused on zen! They have all the matching decor, a massage chair (!!!!! yes when you're getting your teeth cleaned), and all the little touches that match such as the little goody bag having a mindfulness card. Isn't that just so cute?!

This was my first dentist visit in a few years. I was super impressed with the ambience throughout my visit - the music, the design, the front desk staff. The woman who cleaned my teeth was very friendly and talked me through each step she was taking so I knew what to expect. When I did meet with my dentist, Dr. Carpenter, she sat down with me, went through the photos they had taken of my teeth to explain everything she had noticed and show me what it looked like. She was patient with all of my questions. I don't think I've ever had a doctor sit with me and explain things so thoroughly before. It was really appreciated. Will definitely be coming back to this location for future appointments!

At the beginning of the pandemic, I had seen a dentist who ended up doing a lot of work on my mouth that left me in pain and honestly a little scared to go back to a dentist. After a filling I had chipped, I had to find someone and ended up picking Zen Dental based off reviews and aesthetics. I have seen Dr. Nina twice now and she is amazing! She is so nice and super honest, which I appreciated. She made me feel at ease and did such a nice job on that cracked filling, I cant even tell vs my previous dentist left that tooth with a lot of unevenness and pain. The office is small and so cute. Every time I have gone, I have not had to wait at all to be seen! Their dental hygienist staff is also very friendly and nice. And I got to watch netflix during my procedures so that helped! Highly highly recommend.

I'll definitely be coming back! The office is nice and sanitary, the staff are pleasant, and the consult went great. I dread going to the dentist since the last one I went to was more of a treatment/crown mill that suggested unnecessary procedures and happily billed patients exorbitant prices. I didn't feel like that here, I was given information about what was going on with my dental health and the next steps for what I wanted to do next felt more like my choice. Dr. Carpenter and staff are wonderful to work with!

I love Zen Dental Studio and Dr. Carpenter. It's modern. Everyone is friendly and smiles. The dentist chairs are massage chairs. They give you Coco floss for your first time. It's tasty and bougie! LOVE IT. When I moved to Berkeley, I was pretty bummed that this office was so far away. I wish I could stay forever!!!! This is the best office I've ever gone to.

Oh my gosh, this was a revolutionary experience. I've gone my whole life just having an unpleasant experience at the dentist and thinking that was the norm. At Zen Dental, not only is the aesthetic beautiful (plants, nice music, Netflix & headphone options) but Dr. Carpenter explained everything to me, consistently made sure I was comfortable, told me her concerns or areas I should watch out for and so much more. I was so impressed with the entire experience from the moment I walked in with the front desk receptionist to the moment I left. Highly recommend!

Dr. Nina Moslehi was super thoughtful, kind, and helpful - I've had awful experiences with dentists in the past, but her and her staff made me feel welcome and helped me understand each component of my treatment plan. Really appreciated their transparency, and not to mention, the office space itself is relaxing and beautiful!
