About Dr. Richard Shen
Dr. Richard Shen is the new owner and second generation of Beacon Dental Center. He is spearheading a renewed commitment to the patient experience. Dr. Shen has received high levels of training at each step of his education.
He returned to Massachusetts to continue his studies at Harvard School of Dental Medicine to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. He completed advanced training at the prestigious General Practice Residency at James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY.
Dr. Shen returned to Brookline, MA to take over the family practice at 1842 Beacon St. He provides comprehensive dentistry services, including Invisalign, implants, and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Shen loves to try new restaurants, cheer on the local sports teams, and spend time with family and friends.

The dental hospital was great and quick cause I had booked one day before and they worked on me immediately the following day day at 11:30.The X-rays were very clear and the doctor explained to me very well what I needed to know . The bill was shared before any procedures so no surprises and it was a fair deal for my wisdom tooth extraction.

Such a great, pleasant experience! Dr. Shen has a compassionate bedside manner. I never felt rushed. The office was clean and modern, the staff were friendly, and Dr. Shen even took a scan of my mouth so I could see everything he was talking about. He found some potential cavities to watch and he even removed a stain on my front tooth that I was worried was there to stay! Definitely coming back.

It was a very professional visit, and felt very high tech. I liked the digital image of my teeth. Some small down sides - my x rays were quite uncomfortable and took a while. There was some confusion about my insurance and Invisalign, originally I was told it would be covered but it then was not. Finally, the office is “gold” status with the Invisalign company which I assume means they get some sort of kickback. It would be nice if that were disclosed.

I had a great experience at Beacon Dental. The front desk staff were welcoming, and the office environment is neat and with a relaxing atmosphere.
Dr. Zhang and the dental hygienists were super professional and thorough. They took the time to explain each step clearly and answered questions patiently. The office is equipped with the latest technology, focusing on improving the process and patient comfort.
For anyone looking for top-notch dental care, I highly recommend Beacon Dental.

I had a new crown put in and Dr. Shen was a very careful and patient doctor. Also, he has a warm bedside manner. I recommended him to my wife, who recently had a dental implant with him. She is a bit fearful of dental procedures but she said she felt relaxed and calm and everything went smoothly and professionally.
