About Dr. Rimma Portman

A New York native, Dr. Portman grew up in Brooklyn, the younger of two siblings. After the completion of her degree, Dr. Portman attended New York University College of Dentistry where she earned her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. Following her graduation, Dr. Portman spent an additional year completing her General Practice Residency at Staten Island University Hospital.
Prior to establishing iSmile Dental, Dr. Portman worked in several offices around the New York area gaining valuable experience as an associate dentist. Her experience in operative, fixed, removable and implant prosthetics and attachments, surgical extractions, periodontics, rotary endodontics, orthodontics and periodontal surgeries have been invaluable. She is also certified in Invisalign (invisible orthodontics) and is dedicated to the newest advancements in family and cosmetic dentistry. She keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies and strives to perfect her technique by constantly attending continued education courses.
Dr. Portman believes that every patient deserves her thorough, personalized attention and provides her patients with a gentle, caring, comprehensive approach to oral health. She believes in conservative, preventative dentistry, and her goal is to increase the longevity of her patient's teeth. She has participated in outreach programs in the Dominican Republic providing free dental care to underprivileged children and adults.
