About Dr. Scott Kooistra

Please help us welcome Dr. Scott Kooistra, DDS, MS, ABOD who is retiring from the United States Navy Dental Corps. He will be joining our practice and continuing his dental career in the wonderful Beaufort, South Carolina. Born in Hammond, Indiana, Dr. Kooistra completed his dental training at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Kooistra commissioned as a Dental Officer for the United States Dental Corps. During his time as a dental officer, Dr. Kooistra received numerous awards and accomplishments including completing advanced training in Operative Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Additionally, Dr. Kooistra has deployed several times with the United States Marine Corps, including during OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM in 2008. Dr. Kooistra has also been on staff at the Naval Postgraduate dental school and received the Dean’s Award for teaching excellence in 2019. Dr. Kooistra is a board-certified Operative Dentist with over 30 years of experience and advanced training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. We know his extensive resume and experience will be a valued asset to all of our patients.
