About Dr. Shona Teeple

Originally from Salt Lake City, Dr. Teeple has deep roots in Utah and a strong appreciation for its natural beauty. Before pursuing dentistry, Dr. Teeple worked in medical research at the University of Utah where she built a strong foundation in science and analytical thinking. During that time, she volunteered as a director for CARE Fair, a free health and dental event. Her volunteer work helped her realize her passion was in direct patient care. This inspired her to leave academia and follow a path into dentistry, where she could make a more personal and immediate impact on people’s lives. She went to Indiana University for dental school and met her husband while living in the Midwest. Although her education and career have taken her to different parts of the country, she has always been drawn back to Utah, where the mountains and easy access to the outdoors feel like home. Outside the office, Dr. Teeple enjoys a full and active family life. She and her husband have two young daughters. Their household also includes an 11-year-old Dalmatian named Kalamazoo and a cat she rescued from the streets of Indianapolis. Much of her free time is spent with her children and dog, whether visiting the park or heading out on a hike. When she and her husband can find time for a night out, they enjoy going to live music performances or comedy shows.
