Born in New York City, Dr. Kafko attended Brooklyn College. He graduated in 1968 with a B.A. degree in biology. He then attended NYU College of Dentistry and graduated in 1972. He participated in a three-year residency program in the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Captain. He has had extensive training in prosthetics and oral surgery. Dr. Kafko has been in private practice for thirty seven years. He is a member of the ADA and the Mid-town implant study club. Dr. Kafko has diverse interests that include writing, running, and ballroom dancing.

Dr. Kafko had some of the best "chairside" manner I've ever seen in a dentist. I have a normal dentist who was on vacation and Dr. Kafko saw me because I was having pain in my mouth. Instead of the normal dentist who would just enter the room, sit down, and pop my mouth open to look, Dr. Kafko actually sat down and talked to me for 10 minutes to understand my dental history and get to know me. His staff was super friendly and its clearly a teaching office because there was a dental student in the office the entire time. She was really polite and quiet and his teaching actually helped me understand the problem too! Finally, he recommended several times that I stay with my current dentist because I have great teeth but he wouldn't be opposed to me becoming a patient down the line if I chose to. Overall, a great experience! Highly recommended!

Dr. Kafko is by far the best dentist I've ever had! He has awesome interactions with his patients, and his humor would put anyone at ease! A great practice overall and I would highly recommend them!

I had a horrible toothache and was told by another dentist to wait it out. So I went to Dr Kafko for a second opinion and he took care of me right away! He was very friendly and made me feel totally comfortable. I was out of there, pain free, in no time! Definitely recommend!
