Dr. Akbar has pursued a career in dentistry fueled by her passion for creativity and helping people. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University in Illinois, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and providing comprehensive oral healthcare. She continues to expand her knowledge and clinical skills by regularly taking continuing education courses. Dr. Akbar is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Chicago Dental Society (CDS), and Illinois Dental Society (ISDS). In her spare time, she enjoys acrylic painting, volunteering, traveling to explore cultures around the world, and spending valuable time with friends and family.

The dental hygienist was not very kind/understanding. When I would involuntarily move due to discomfort she would get annoyed at me. While I was getting x-rays done of my teeth, I was gagging so hard I cried. The main dentist didn’t tell me I had cavities until I was getting checked out and told I needed to schedule more appointments not covered by my insurance to get fillings. I already have anxiety about going to the dentist and this experience made it worse.

When I arrived there it was a sign that said go to the door around the corner. So that’s what I did. There was also a sign on that door that said to dial #002 and press the call button! I did that several times. I also called the office several times with no answer!!!! I am totally disappointed as I wasted my time and gas going to this place! I was in serious pain. So no I wouldn’t recommend this place! Luckily for me there was an immediate care down the street and they took care of me with no issues!!!!

Very nice, clean and pretty office. The staff were kind, quick and efficient. The dentist can be scary but I didn’t feel judged. Just educated and taken care of. You do have to go up a flight of stairs so just be aware of that.

I was scheduled for a 2pm appointment. The office was closed and I was never notified that they would not be available. I’m left with a toothache related to a cavity which is missing a filling and no way to get care before I board the plane at 5am Monday morning.

I never leave reviews, but my experience at East Erie Dental was so positive, I felt it was important to do so. Everyone from the intake specialist to the receptionist to the dental hygienist to the person who took my X-rays to the doctor had an incredible attitude and made me feel so at ease and supported. I’m still blushing after how much they hyped up my teeth. 12/10, would recommend.

The best dentist experience I’ve ever had. Said no one ever, but it’s true!!! I had a root canal and I was terrified and the dentists here made it painless, so kind, so patient, talked me through it all. Followed up. I am so thankful for them. They also talk you through all the pricing / what insurance does and doesn’t cover. Just overall so glad I found them!

I had the worst experience here. Although Dr. Akbar was fine, everyone else, including the receptionists, X-ray tech, and hygienist, were rude, hard to work with, and did a very poor job. I will never return here & would strongly recommend against this practice.

Dr. Tabasam Akbar is a great dentist. I was seen right away for an urgent appointment. The entire process was smooth and I now know which further steps I need to care for my teeth - which they were able to book for the next week. Great experience! I'm happy to have her as my dentist.

Dr. Tabam Akbar can come across as a bit abrasive and there were times when her delivery offended me, but she does exceptional work. She is a very talented dentist and if you are looking for high quality work, I definitely recommend her. Also, they don't always honor their office promos they send you via e-mail so beware of that. There wasn't a long wait at all to see the doctor, pretty much went back right away. The actual procedure took awhile because she is in/out of rooms seeing several patients all at once. I wouldn't schedule anything too close to this appt.

I initially felt great about working with the Stone Dental Group but at my second visit, they performed a procedure that wasn't covered by my insurance which I didn't know about until I had to pay my bill. I felt undermined and taken advantage of. If I had known about it, I would have rescheduled when I could afford it or got on better insurance. I feel like they just wanted to keep billing me and my insurance. Definitely didn't help my fear of dentists and I certainly will never go back.
