After the doctor completed the exam, she took time to show the x-rays and explain things thoroughly to convey what I needed to prioritize and why. Insurance estimates were provided and clearly explained as well. I did feel this step adds time in between each aspect of the appointment. However, I think it is helpful to understand the breakdown. ”

About Dr. Xiaoying Gu
Dr. Cherie Gu graduated from Emory University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She attended and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2016.
Dr. Gu became interested in g a dentist because her father had poor dental health and no access to treatment. This fueled her passion for promoting a healthy smile and her desire to break down barriers that prevent care.
Dr. Gu is native to Alabama but is happily settled in the Atlanta area with her husband and one-year-old son. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and explore foodie options in the city. She is fluent in English and Chinese.

There was a slight wait time. I think one woman had been waiting for a while and decided to reschedule.
They don’t accept primary/secondary insurance; just one. Though the lady at the front desk made it seem like they could. They are nice so that was definitely a bummer because of the pricing.
They are overly friendly. It’s not a bad thing. You should check them out for yourself. You might find that you really like them, I know I did.
She doesn’t seem money hungry. She wasn’t ready to drill all my teeth for cavities. She wasn’t like let’s watch that one and see how it goes vs let’s drill everything.

I had a dental emergency and was able to book an early appointment with relative ease. From the intake process until finishing my dental matter, everything was amazing. The staff are highly professional and caring individuals who exemplify outstanding customer service. More importantly, Dr. Gu went above and beyond to both resolve my dental emergency and provide additional information with respect to the nature of my issue. I was blown away with the exceptional level of care and attentiveness given to me. I’m certain that this is the standard culture here. It is for these reasons that I would offer my highest recommendation and endorsement of Dr. Gu and her colleagues.

I would never go back. Dentist was very nice and informative but the rest of office staff including the hygienist was rude and very offensive to all my questions and concerns. Example: was given my care plan which was not what I went in for or what my insurance would pay for, I just wanted a regular cleaning and checked by the dentist.
Please take this practice off your suggestion’s for Humana patients.
