Got the laziest teeth cleaning I've ever recieved - no brushing, no flossing, nothing but a quick buffer job.
I am sure there are people like me out there that this review will help. I’ll try to keep it brief. I had a traumatic dental experience when I was 14 due to not being numb. After that, just thinking about going to a dentist made me cry. I’m now 26 and my teeth were bad enough that my desire to get them fixed trumped my phobia of dentists and their drills. I’ve spent the last 3 years reading reviews online looking for the Los Angeles dentist I would eventually go to when I worked up the courage or when the pain became too unbearable. Dr. Edalat stood out because he consistently received great review after great review. I figured he’s got to be pretty good it people are giving him 5 stars after he had drilled in their months. I finally bit the bullet and called for an appointment. To my shock, the woman on the phone said I could come in the same day. Mentally, I wasn’t prepared for that but I went anyway. 2 hours after calling to make the appointment, I was in the chair with Dr. Edalat getting a temporary crown. It didn’t hurt at all. I didn’t even feel it when he gave me a shot of Novocain. I was proud of myself for even going to a dentist but I was kinda kicking myself for putting it off for so long, and for being terrified of something that ended up being pleasant and over before I knew it. I was thinking about was I was going to have for dinner while he was drilling my tooth. Today I had a root canal done on my worst tooth. It didn’t hurt either. The only uncomfortable part was having to keep my mouth open the entire time. I’m almost in shock by how painless my experience at this dental office has been. This is the exact opposite of the experience I had when I was in. I’ve been worked on by all 3 doctors here, and they’re all great. I’ve already recommended this place to two of my coworkers and I’ll continue recommending him to anyone that hints they need some dental work. The price (in uninsured) is wayyy less than what I thought I would have to pay (which was also part of the reason I’ve been putting off getting my teeth fixed). I know the feeling of thinking your teeth are so bad the dentist will shame you when you finally to go to one. I know the feeling of being so afraid of the drills that you tense up anytime you hear a power tool. I know the feeling of having to keep floss picks in your purse so you can keep the holes in your teeth clear. I just love, love, LOVE this place and that’s something that I never thought I would say about a dentist. I’m leaving this review in hopes that someone like me will read it and pick up the phone to do the right thing for themselves. I know the struggle of not being able to chew on both sides of your mouth. I’ve spent 10 years chewing on one side and not by choice. I can relate to any of you that think your teeth are a disaster or those of you that are terribly afraid of dentists in general. I can relate because I was you 2 weeks ago. Now I’ve had a friggin root canal and I’m a few more appointments here away from having perfect teeth. I promise you, you have nothing to worry about at this dentist and you will be so happy when you leave here. There is a reason why Dr. Poria Edalat has so many 5-star reviews. Your only regret after coming here will be having not come sooner.
Dr. Kyaw was professional, gentle, kind, and highly competent during his brief exam, as was his hygienist, who gave me a painless gum check and cleaning. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the staff at this practice. The X-ray tech had to reshoot some teeth multiple times because she chose a bite wing that wouldn't fit (rather painfully) in my mouth. On my return visit, the wait was so long that some other patients walked out, while the front desk was involuntarily rescheduling others who'd waited up to an hour. And then my fillings were done roughly by another dentist I hadn't chosen, although I wasn't told it would be another dentist when I made the appointment.
I have been scared of the dentist for years. Dr. Lui was courteous, friendly and actually made me look forward to coming back!!!!
Rodney was fantastic. Didn't feel pushy and was looking out for my best interests. Would def recommend.
The dentist herself was nice, but I will not be returning to this office. The facility felt unclean and chaotic.
I went in for my appointment about 15 minutes early even though I had already filled out paperwork on Zocdoc ahead of time, I just wanted to make sure they took my insurance and everything was good. But when I went in, I filled out redundant paperwork (whatever at least they're thorough) and then for some reason the insurance company kept re-routing the receptionist when she called to check my eligibility and she said that's never happened to her before. So I was sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes then they took me back for XRays and did that quickly and efficiently then they had me wait for the doctor. I waited for another 45 minutes or so and then when he came he didn't say much at all just said I should be good with a regular cleaning then said he'd go set that up. I waited another like 30 minutes or so and then the XRay technician came back and was like oh you've been waiting here for a while I'll see how much longer it'll be. Thank goodness she came then because I'm a patient person (I'm a kindergarten teacher) but over two hours?? I know they're busy for the holidays but I saw people coming in and out just while I was in the waiting room done with their visit - I thought they'd schedule it out a bit more and I had an appointment. So I was seriously debating actually leaving the office at that point but luckily someone came and brought the instruments and then someone else came and did the cleaning pretty quickly. But in total I was there from 10:30am-1pm and I had to re-schedule some plans with friends which was unfortunate since I'm only in town for a little bit for the holiday break. I am happy I was able to make an appointment and the staff were friendly overall, but that wait time is absolutely insane and was wearing on my patience (which I think is saying a lot for an elementary school teacher).
I definitely recommend Dr. Yousefzadeh. Even though he did not take my insurance, he offered to still see me for the issue I was having. He treated me like any other patient and was kind enough to recommend me to a specific oral surgeon. He seemed to have a lot of experience. His staff was super nice as well, both the hygienist and the office manager, who greeted me with the warmest welcome when I came in. The office was super clean and had a cool vibe to it as well.
Their amazing and professional . They care about their patients. I highly recommend others to visit them .
This app made a mistake and made appt at the Santa Clarita ofc that was closed. I then had to drive to LA to be seen.
Very thorough and knowledgeable dentist. Excellently run office. Never any long waiting time.
Everyone is so sweet and make your visit to the dentist as easy as possible. They are so caring and provide you with headphones to help relax during your procedure, due to my phone not connecting to the headphones they provided both a dental tech and Dr. Sima let me borrow their phones to hear music!! They’re all the best ??
