YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT WILL BE A 15 MIN CONSULTATION CALL SELF PAY PATIENTS ONLY Initial session: $450 for 60 minutes Ongoing session: $250 for 30 minutes Welcome to my practice and thank you for prioritizing your mental health treatment. I am a double board-certified psychiatrist offering medication management and therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. I aim to provide an affirming environment for individuals of all backgrounds and hope to understand your unique community and family system. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you can feel heard and gain tools to better understand and take charge of your mental health. I have worked in a variety of health systems, including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient, residential treatment, and correctional settings. During my training at Baylor College of Medicine, I received recognition for Clinical Excellence in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Humanism in Medicine, and Resident Teaching. I also served as a Chief Fellow and coordinated wellness initiatives in the department. My training has provided me with exposure to various types of therapy including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family therapy. I am comfortable treating a variety of mental health conditions, with particular interest in depression, anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.

What should a new client know about working with you?

*** To schedule an appointment please call my office or schedule via my website: akhanmd.com *** Our initial scheduled contact will be a free 15-minute consultation, which will help determine whether my practice is a good fit for the treatment you are seeking. After that initial consultation, I will coordinate a timing to schedule your initial assessment. For adults, the initial assessment is one 60-minute session. For children/adolescents, the initial assessment consists of two 60-minute sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I strive to be comprehensive and utilize evidence-based tools to help improve your mental health. This may consist of measurement-based tools to track your mood and anxiety over time and collaboration with other members of your care team (such as your PCP or individual therapist).
