I am a board-certified psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (DNP, PMHNP) based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and working with clients statewide via telehealth with great interpersonal skills and experience in emergency room psych consult, inpatient, and outpatient health care settings. Specialized in working with adolescent, adult, and older adult to provide psychiatric services including assessment, triage, diagnosing, treating and follow up of a variety of mental health disorders, substance abuse and addiction with evidence-based clinical care practices while providing patient education, advocacy, and effective patient-centered care especially in minorities. I set clear, measurable goals for myself and my clients, and every session is an opportunity to make progress. I provide patient care with a tailored approach to individualize every client's care to help clients feel their best. I have observed that my style and approach are a good fit for young and older adults and older adults who may be dealing with the stress of life transitions and social pressures, typically presenting in the forms of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, stress, PTSD, ADHD, substance abuse, sleep disorder, personality disorder, psychosis and eating disorders. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style is calm, warm, and personable. Patients always feel comfortable talking to me about anything, and I take pride in my ability to listen without judgment. My approach to goal setting with patients is to encourage them to be involved in their care to figure out what they want to accomplish in their mental health journey. I start by building rapport and trust, and getting comfortable with what it means to receive mental health care. Long term, we work together to set goals and measure their progress progress.
