What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is straightforward: I take time to understand your specific situation before recommending anything. Treatment plans are individualized and built around your symptoms, history, and goals, not a template. You won't leave an appointment just with a prescription and no explanation. I'm direct and practical. If I think something isn't working, I'll say so. If I think a different approach makes more sense, we'll talk through it together. The goal is a care relationship where you feel like a participant, not just a patient.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first appointment (virtual or in person) with me is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, typically about 50 minutes. I'll ask about your symptoms, history, any prior treatments, and what's going on in your life right now. I don't rush straight to a prescription. I want to understand the full picture before we talk about a treatment plan. Follow-up appointments are usually 20–25 minutes. We'll review how you're responding to any medications, talk through what's working and what isn't, and adjust as needed. Every visit includes a brief check-in on how you're doing more broadly and not just symptom tracking. I find that medication works best when it's paired with an honest conversation about what's actually happening in your life. I see adults dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and substance use. I practice under the supervision of Dr. Shehram Majid, MD, which means you benefit from collaborative oversight throughout your care
